The Bass Attack 2 from Hartke is a preamp and direct box intended for use with electric bass. Sporting a tube-emulation overdrive circuit—as well as a mix control for this distortion feature—you can achieve timbres varying from tasteful harmonic overdrive to all-out snarling fuzz. A tone knob gives you control over the distortion s harmonic character, though this pedal features its own EQ section too, with bass and treble controls, as well as a contour switch for dipping the midrange. Furthermore, a separate tone-shaping circuit instantiates a frequency-adjustable preset EQ curve for further timbre tweaking.
